2020 CERTIFICATIONS SCHEDULE

[COVID-19 Reset]

Due to COVID-19, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Aero Skills tour. While we are not hosting Aero Skills tournaments, we are very excited to still be on the road and can’t wait to see you on our CERTIFICATIONS TOUR!

Sign up today for any of the stops and take the opportunity to gain CertTEC certifications and Aero Skills Officials certifications. There will be various demos at each stop, so be sure to plan a visit and check it out.

Aero Skills will be back for the 2021 Season!

Why get a CertTEC Certfication?

There are two big reasons to get your CertTEC certification:

  1. This certificate recognizes your skills and knowledge and can set you apart from competitors. Even if you don’t have an A&P license, CertTEC can prove to employers that you have what its takes to work at their facility.
  2. CertTEC is always looking for Examiners across the country. If you get your certification you can become eligible to conduct practical evaluations and earn extra income.

What is the process?

  1. Complete the online Applied Skills Inventory (ASI) Test (link coming soon) .
  2. Sign up for one of our Certification events.
  3. Come out for a 3-4 hour practical exam.
  4. Receive your certificate and update your Resume.

How much does it cost?

Normally, the cost for the ASI is $50 and for the practical exam, $440. This year due to the COVID-19 Crisis, ATG is waiving these fees!  Once you show your stuff on the ASI, you may be eligible to take the practical test, and meet our team. Both your ASI and practical tests are free for a limited time.

What is an Officials Certification?

ATG needs trained officials to plan, organize and execute our Aero Skills events.  During our certification tour this fall we will be providing free training and certification as an Aero Skills Official for the following positions:

Pit Boss (Head Judge)

Judge

Inspector

Event Administrator

Timer

Once you are trained, we may contact you to work at one of our local, regional, or national Aero Skills events.  This is a great way to stay involved in the air maintenance community and to give back to up and coming technicians.

What is the process?

  1. Sign up for a Certification events on our tournaments page.
  2. Come out for a 3-4 hour training session.
  3. Receive your certificate and volunteer for our next tournament.
